Grocery Supervisor

Store Location:

Purpose: To supervise the day stocking team and to achieve department goals by stocking, receiving and handling merchandise on the sales floor; to be the key point of communication between Night Crew and Grocery Clerks; and to provide prompt, friendly, helpful, well-informed service to our customers.

 

Status: Reports to Grocery Buyer

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead/direct the day stocking team to help achieve goals set by the Grocery Buyers and reduce Out of Stocks
  2. Communicate with supervisors, night crew and Grocery Buyer to determine merchandising plan and priorities
  3. Write list of products to be brought from warehouses for stocking
  4. Work with receiving on deliveries, transfers and credits
  5. Responsible for writing day clerk schedules and reviews
  6. Managing Day clerks time and attendance in UltiPro
  7. Understanding / Knowledge of our employee handbook
  8. Develop team work within your department
  9. Reorder merchandise as needed based on item movement and verify invoices to product
  10. Follow all safety and security procedures, such as lifting properly; correct baler operation
  11. Follow merchandising standards and practices: align product, collect and return stray items, stock to maintain high product levels
  12. Stock opened cases on shelves; move and position pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack; stack products from partial pallets onto six wheelers or full pallets
  13. Observe and ensure correct product signage
  14. Set up display, assembling as necessary; modify displays for safe handling by customers
  15. Pull loose cardboard from floor; clear sales floor of debris and sweep; remove empty pallets and equipment from the sales floors; operate cardboard baler
  16. Provide prompt and courteous customer service; help customers load large items into cart, direct customers to products, relay product status knowledge, and help with special orders

 

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks:

  1. Assist in other areas of the store as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred
  2. License/Certifications: None
  3. Experience: previous merchandising experience preferred
  4. Knowledge/Skills: computer and basic math skills required
  5. Other: Ability to lift up to 50lbs
